Forum rules

When you put a new thread up in the Workshop please put your car's year and model in the thread title, along with just a brief indicator of the problem.

Car Year - Car Model: Brief description of issue. EXAMPLE- 1999 9-3. Problems starting when hot.

Please also add as much information as you can about the problem, to your post.

This will help us to help you, without having to ask basic details such as what car you have.

Threads with non-compliant titles will be moved to The Pit Lane (in which no replies can be posted, but the OP can edit the thread - upon which the thread will be released to the workshop forum)

Nb. Generic thread titles for truly generic issues that genuinely are not model or variant specific (such as "how do I change the spring in an forge wastegate actuator") are acceptable

**The first 5 posts for new users require individual moderator approval (which they will only get it if they are in line the rules of the forum). Please be patient and allow time for that to happen, and avoid duplicate postings.**

Did you have a look through the tech2 register?

Its a sticky in this section buddy.

Edit: If you get no joy there/here, have a wee shoofty on gumtree. I found a guy a few months ago who came out and programmed a twice unit. He had the GM card aswell iirc. So you might get lucky and find someone close by.

I think Vauxhall had switched to MDI interface by 2011 (Saab certainly had), if so Tech2 wont work.

Tech2 should work OK I have been using mine on my sons Astra and v172 bin file I use goes up to 2014.
Unfortunately it would be a 600mile round trip for me!

For Vauxhalls you dont need a super expensive real TECHII, providing you have a windows laptop.

The magic tool is a
VXDIAG VCXNano GM

Its a clone MDI tool, and comes with a software DVD which includes GM TECHII for Windows, and GlobalTIS.
So you can also update all the cars software for the various systems, as well as full TECHII functionality. The price is around £85.

I have one and its been brilliant. Also used it alot for friends cars and people at work etc. So it paid for itself a long time ago.

Also depends what the OP wants to achieve......Opcom for about £15 will do an awful lot apart from coding modules.
Guess it must be sorted either way as we havent heard back for a month :-)

Chris Hamley Saab Specialist in Yelverton will have Tech II but I don't know if they have the Vauxhall software for it.
