Forum rules

When you put a new thread up in the Workshop please put your car's year and model in the title, along with just a brief indicator of the problem.

Car Year - Car Model: Brief description of issue. EXAMPLE- 1999 9-3. Problems starting when hot

Please also add as much information as you can about the problem, to your post.

This will help us to help you, without having to ask basic details such as what car you have.

Threads with non-compliant titles will be moved to The Pit Lane (in which no replies can be posted, but the OP can edit the thread - upon which the thread will be released to the workshop forum)

Nb. Generic thread titles for truly generic issues that genuinely are not model or variant specific (such as "how do I change the spring in an forge wastegate actuator") are acceptable

**The first 5 posts for new users require individual moderator approval (which they will only get it if they are in line the rules of the forum). Please be patient and allow time for that to happen, and avoid duplicate postings.**

Car Model: Saab 93 2007 Facelift 1.9TiD
Hi guys,

I need to replace the ARB bushes on my 9 3 57 place full facelift model, with the 1.9 TiD engine. I actually attempted this job a while ago, but as the bushes I got from carparts4less were too small, I had to put the old ones back on.

The ones I originally got were 17mm internal diameter, which turned out to be far too small.

Does anyone on here know how I can be certain of the correct size of ARB bush, and where I should go for them? I don't want the fancy powerflex ones, as my car is a bit of a beater, and the money would be better used in a couple other places.

This is the full details of the car, courtesy of sgould who helped me with another issue :D

Mines a code 3, wifes is code 4.

We both have 9-3ss Aero TTid's built in March 2008 and April 2008....

Both have 25.2mm front ARB's and I think 19mm rears

Thanks wringhar!

I had a look at Neobros site too, and they sell 17mm, 18mm, and 19mm ones on there. I know it's like 18 or 19mm now, going off that.

Can anyone else confirm it'll be the 19mm ones I need?

Many Thanks. :)

Try 18 and 19mm open end spanners over the bars to check the size.

Thanks CJ! That was a great post, and I've managed to get the fronts ordered :)

Thanks TWSaab, That's a great idea. I have used your idea and have found out my ARB on the rear is definitely 19mm diameter. I have just ordered the bushes! :D

Update:

I also found that the rubber bump stops at the bottom of the rear springs have crumbled away! :o

That's me got them ordered in too from neobros.

I'm really hoping changing these, and the ARB bushes is going to solve the problems I've been having lately! :D
