Forum rules

When you put a new thread up in the Workshop please put your car's year and model in the title, along with just a brief indicator of the problem.

Car Year - Car Model: Brief description of issue. EXAMPLE- 1999 9-3. Problems starting when hot

Please also add as much information as you can about the problem, to your post.

This will help us to help you, without having to ask basic details such as what car you have.

Threads with non-compliant titles will be moved to The Pit Lane (in which no replies can be posted, but the OP can edit the thread - upon which the thread will be released to the workshop forum)

Nb. Generic thread titles for truly generic issues that genuinely are not model or variant specific (such as "how do I change the spring in an forge wastegate actuator") are acceptable

**The first 5 posts for new users require individual moderator approval (which they will only get it if they are in line the rules of the forum). Please be patient and allow time for that to happen, and avoid duplicate postings.**

I've looked through this thread and was surprised that I couldn't find a recommendation for DCA Saab in Upper Bucklebury, Berkshire. Maybe the old peepers need a new set of windows, but anyway, I can heartily recommend DCA. They've just replaced an auto gearbox on a 9-5 2.2TiD estate for me, as well as having replaced the injector seals last year amongst other things. Honest, friendly, and fairly priced.

I can second this.

Very helpful guys, Did a sump drop and clean for me on my 9-5, Courtesy car Free of charge too (albeit a 2.0 petrol with 217,000 miles+)

For anyone in Devon, try

Brixham Auto Centre
Address: 4 Castor Rd, Brixham TQ5 9PY
Phone:01803 882736

Disclaimer, the owner Tim is a friend of mine, but I've been getting him to work on my cars for years and he knows his way around Saabs well. Recently did a sump drop, ESP unit replacement (including coding it) and some other work on my 9-5. He's probably too honest for his own good and his rates are a lot lower than other places. He worked on my 2 previous 9-3s too :)

Can thoroughly recommend NDS in Acton. Honest, well priced (no rip off parts charges) and the work is good. I've taken my C900 Ruby there and my current 9000 - always been pleased with the results.

Joe Pugh, ex service manager at a local dealership now no longer. VERY good honest service and helps you out with his knowledge, doesn,t take advantage like so many others for financial gain. Based in Epsom. Worth the near 70 mile round trip for me

Thanks for the update to Saabtec. I've added Joe too.

I used Carlssons Saab in Leatherhead last week - brilliant guy there.

Can anybody recommend a decent trustworthy and hopefully inexpensive garage in Devon....noted the one in Exeter thanks.
Also best supplier for parts...I need a new set shocks, arm and brake discs and pads at front....just bought my Saab with a clean slate mot from halfords....counts for nothing obviously!!! So annoyed!! And was not expecting to be paying out another £650 on buying the car! (Current quote)
Thanks in advance for any advice or comforting words.

Absolutely top bloke for getting suspension geometry and tracking done.

Ex-racer, will also do corner weights if you have coilovers!

There is a fab 50's diner there while you wait :-)

I had basic full 4 wheel alignment done and is fab - they do have laser alignment but he also still uses hand gauges for real touch / feel.

Will be doing the 60 mile round trip again in the future.

They are also the South Wales distributor for Zircotec ceramic coatings.

Does anyone have any knowledge of Astley Saab in Yeovil or Rowcliffes in Yeovil or Taunton? Think Rowcliffes are Vauxhall main dealers but one up as Saab as well. Thanks

J.R Motor engineers in Colchester are very good and fairly priced! Ask for Jamie, he rebuilt the top end on my vectra after the cambelt snapped ages ago and the car is running as well as a vectra ever could. I've had my saab serviced by them and it runs beautifully. https://www.facebook.com/JrMotorEngineers/

If you're in the west midlands, I recommend Tettenhall Saab
Steve has 30 years or so experience with Saabs
He's a great guy, and very knowledgeable, in fact I'm going to see him again on Tuesday.

One thing I particularly like about visiting Steve is that he lets you help, guiding and explaining as you go.
I think this is brilliant as you get to really learn your car inside out as he works.

Also, his prices are very fair, and you leave there happy, instead of feeling robbed like most places

his number is 01902 747510

If you're near Telford, there is a guy called Colin at eurofit autocentre, on stafford park
He too used to work for Saab, and has around 30 years experience.
They aren't cheap, nor do they specialise in Saabs. He just happens to be a Saab expert.
