Car Model: Saab 9-3 SS Aero 2.8 V6
The Car:
  • 9-3 Aero 2.8 Sport Saloon, registered Mar 07
  • 6-speed manual
  • colour Titan Grey (303)
  • 91000 miles
  • 3 owners including me
  • 2 original keys and all books
  • MOT until Mar 18 (no advisories)
  • full service history (fluids last changed Dec 16 at 86,000 miles)
  • Alu 65 wheels with Continental Sport Contact 5 235/40 R18 tyres (approx. 5 mm tread)
  • Alu 59 wheels with Continental TS830 235/45 R17 winter tyres (approx. 3-4 mm tread)
  • OEM brake rotors and pads fitted Dec 16 (86,000 miles)
  • Maptun Stage 1 installed Dec 15 (80,000 miles)
  • NGK LFR7AIX plugs fitted Dec 15 (80,000 miles)
  • Bilstein B8 shocks and Maptun springs fitted Dec 15 (80,000 miles)

The Good:
I have had the car for three years and it has never let me down. I have looked for quite some time for a 9-3 SS with modern interior (but pre-facelift body), and have taken good care of it since with regular services, quality replacement parts and V-Power fuel since the Maptun install. The tune is quite mild and doesn’t affect fuel consumption, but spools the turbo a little faster, which improves responsiveness (can be removed in few minutes). The car has all the creature comforts you’d want (including cool A/C, heated leather seats, parking sensors, auto-dimming mirror, bluetooth mobile phone setup etc.) and doesn’t require investment anytime soon. The leather seats are in good condition, including driver’s bolster, which tends to rip on some cars. The 17" Alu 59 wheels are in good nick, with only minor kerb rash on one alloy.

The Bad & Ugly:
Being 2007 reg, it is affected by higher M tax bracket. Also, as expected for the V6, it’s not very frugal ;) Nothing major otherwise, but there are a few age related cosmetic blemishes as you’d expect, most notably on the very low front splitter. The 18" Alu 65 wheels are heavily kerbed but still true and do not leak. I have tried to capture the flaws on photos. The few repairs over the years were minor and non-urgent (anti-roll bar boot split, ignition switch playing up etc. - all invoices included).

I'm selling it as my partner changed jobs, so we do not need two cars anymore. The Saab is available for viewing in Basingstoke (RG24) on weekends and weekday evenings. Test drives only with proof of insurance. More photos in the album at: https://photos.app.goo.gl/r5LBSlMBlDurR59j1
