Contemplating a 9-3 2.8. I'm really not sure I should sell my 9-5, but it might be time for something different - this is the longest I've ever had a car! :?
Some photos in my old project thread here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=147448
I obviously need to take some new ones, which I will do before I advertise it anywhere else!

Saab 9-5 Aero - manual, estate, 2005
MOT 30th October 2019
140,000 miles

This is a very well cared-for (as you can see by the list of work carried out, below!) car, which I've been very happy with over the last 4+ years and ~75,000 miles. It's just time for a change, especially as my wife now has a 7 seater, so I don't 'need' a big practical estate. I'll be sad to see it go, but don't want it to languish on the drive! It has let me down twice in ~75,000 miles: once when the Crank Position Sensor went, and again with the clutch hose. The common issues with these cars (DI cassette, sump 'gunking', etc.) have all been addressed, as well as a significant amount of additional preventative maintenance. I would not hesitate to drive anywhere in this car. It has all the standard features - cruise control, heated leather seats, HID headlamps etc., as well as a number of upgrades - details below.

Owned for 4+ years (since 64,000 miles), serviced every ~6000 miles in this time by myself (an Engineer). Some of the bigger jobs and MOTs done by my local Saab specialist (Steve at SS motors, Southampton). The latest MOT wasn't (down to poor planning on my part!) and resulted in a list of advisories which is rather unjustified in my opinion - they can largely be summarised as: 'the brakes aren't new' and 'there is some corrosion underneath (but only as you'd expect on a car that's more than a couple of years old!)'. There is indeed a slight oil leak which I'll investigate if the car doesn't sell before I have a chance. Tyres (and number plate lamp!) subsequently replaced. The 'steering rack play' feels no different to me from previous years when it wasn't flagged as an issue - it may get worse at some point and need to be addressed, but I'd be surprised.

Work done in my ownership includes (but isn't limited to!):
Servicing as due on e.g. air filter, fuel filter, brake fluid etc. Oil/filter/plugs every 6000 miles as above.
Accessory belt and pulleys (genuine) done (again) recently.
Tyres (4x Toyo Proxes Sport) all replaced in November.
Sump drop soon after purchase (post 2004 means no PCV issues anyway).
MAF, lambda, radiator all replaced within the last year.
Front subframe bushes (poly). Torque rod bushes (both - poly). Rear trailing arm bushes (poly).
Front drop-links (Meyle HD), all disks (Brembo) and pads (Saab, Aero-specific) soon after purchase.
Rear rose joints (x4) all replaced - the final one (which I hadn't got round to) actually needed doing at MOT time last year.
HID lamps recently replaced (Osram). Level sensors and front cable replaced.
Front to rear brake lines have been replaced.
Very recent (<10,000 miles) new (genuine Saab) DI cassette, and spare (which works fine).
CPS replaced (Bosch).
Braided (HEL) clutch hose.
Both sections of PAS piping replaced.

Currently, the car is fitted with the following upgrades & accessories which will be included in my asking price, but any/all of them could be removed if preferred. I'll put it back to standard spec next weekend (16/17th) and then offer it at a reduced price.
Hertz speakers - chosen to be a best fit compared to the original specs, but a significantly improved sound.
Bluetooth connection into the 'telephone' board inside the stereo - for streaming and calls.
Removable (2x bolts) swan-neck towbar.
Dog guard (genuine saab), boot divider, boot liner. I also have the fold-up cargo guard.
Fitted window blinds in the rear and tailgate.
Black wood dash trim - silver original also available.
3" stainless downpipe and stage 1 map. This is very much a conservative choice - commonly the downpipe is only fitted when going for a stage 3 map. I'm happy with the performance as-is, but an upgrade to stage 3 would only require the map and an upgraded fuel pressure regulator or injectors. I can supply the car with a standard map if preferred.
Additional set of early 9-5 'hammerhead' wheels with just-about-legal Uniroyal Rainsports.

Examples of other jobs I've done/had done and had forgotten about:

Exhaust manifold bolts & gasket
Oil pressure sender
Silicone vac hoses
Leather gear & handbrake gaitors

...there will be others!

A few more pics as snapped this morning... Better ones to follow once I've washed it, assuming nobody buys it in the meantime!

Hi,

I've PM'd you but it's sat in my outbox for some reason, so not sure if you've got it. Interested in the car as it is, and may be able to collect this weekend.

Jon

Jonnie, PM's will sit in your outbox until it is viewed by the recipient. Maybe the seller hasn't been online since you sent it?
