Due to my current situation, which some members are aware of, the sad time has come for me to part company with my 9-3. Please read this carefully if you are interested, as I want to make clear from the start that car is not MOTd and does require some work.

Ok, the car then: 2001, 51 registered Saab 9-3 Aero HOT 3 door, Silver, 180,000miles. Last used on the road in December 2015, the mot has expired. My plans were to give it a gradual restoration, however due to circumstances beyond my control, that is not now possible. Ideally I’d love for someone ( a forum member) to want to get this car back on the road, and get as much enjoyment from it as I did. But I’m realistic, and appreciate that breaking it for parts may well be the option. I don’t have the time or space for that, if you want to do that to it then fine, I just need it moved fairly soon. I don’t want to put it on eBay, or list the parts separately.

The good:
B205R engine, running stage 2 with an Abbott re-map
Hirsch suspension
Hirsch cat-back exhaust
Hirsch front grille
HEL brake lines
Steering rack brace and clamp
Forge recirculating dump valve
2x rear anti-roll bars with custom machined spacers
Carbon dash surround
Electric leather interior
Oil and filter changed every 5000 miles when car was in daily , has only ever had the correct GM oil and filter.
About 15000 miles ago it had: genuine new clutch and slave cylinder, genuine front suspension top mounts, correct sparkplugs, front wheel bearings, 2x front control arms, 2x genuine stanchion arm bushes, poly drop link bushes, genuine fuel filter. The td-04 appears to be in good condition and has no play. No smoke when it was started and run recently.

The not so good:
High pressure steering hose has failed
Brakes need replacing, as an absolute minimum it will need rear discs, pads, shoes and likely a handbrake cable
Rust in 3 places: Both rear arches although the n/s is worse than the o/s, and the o/s sill, by the door aperture
Tyres are all completely unusable
Car is not looking so fresh after being unused for almost 2 years. It has been stored outside, under a car cover.
There will probably be other small things that may want attention, but nothing fundamental that I have noticed. Should I spot anything I’ll update this post accordingly.
The aircon compressor does not work.
It currently sits on later 9-3 wheels, I think the type usually fitted to the Vector. I will also include a set of 4 Viggen wheels, they will need a refurb.

I will try to get the steering hose replaced, as currently the car can’t be driven. In order to remove the failed hose, the front of the car has been removed, ie bumper, lamps, intercooler etc. There seems little sense in re-fitting these parts until the steering hose is replaced.
There are a few dents and marks to the body work, as one would likely expect from a car of this age and mileage.

If you are genuinely interested or have any questions, please ask and I’ll do all I can to help.
Pics to follow.

Car really needs to go!

Car will need to be transported.

Car really needs to go asap, as I will lose the storage where it is kept early next week. Open to offers, otherwise it will be heading for scrap.
