2003 (53) Saab 9-5 2.2Tid Vector auto.

Just passed MOT with no advisories.

The car was bought with various electrical engine issues meaning it was running in limp mode. It has had a new crank position sensor, a used (& well cleaned) Bosch manifold pressure sensor & an EGR clean. The car is now being used to commute to London for a week to thoroughly test before I sell it, so the mileage will increase from the pictures by 200-500miles.

Good points :
A 5 star Euroncap tested car with iso-fix, child locks & a HUGE boot.
A very comfy place to spend mile after mile at a reasonable turn of speed & still doing sensible mpg.
Genuine Vector model, so half leather, aero bodykit & 17" wheels.
Split climate control (and with vents in the rear).
Vauxhall/Isuzu 2.2 tdi bombproof engine (and very dry underneath)
4 reasonable tread tyres, with winters on the front.
Front disks & pads look fairly new.
4 x electric windows.
Auto-dimming rear view mirror.
Remote central locking (alas only 1 key).
Parrot CK3100 bluetooth mobile kit installed (which has a loose connection as it works most of the time & randomly resets - a common issue according to google !)
For a 13 year old car, the paint cleans up fairly well.

The not so good:
Its 13 years old & has some car park rash (high res pics can be supplied on request).
I've noticed today that both mirrors only adjust down (although will move by hand), so the switch on the drivers door looks to be the cause.
Both rear arches have the dreaded orange bubbles - but would still easily be saved.
There is a dent next to the 2.2 badge on the tailgate - paint not cracked & no sign of rust.
There is a rumble from the front of the car, which I suspect may be wheel bearing starting to complain - more on this as the miles go on this week.
The heated seats don't work (may be a fuse, as neither work).
As it's single figures outside, I can't test the A/c, so lets assume it needs re-gassing.
No history with the car, although I was informed it was serviced regularly, it will have a full oil & filter change prior to collection.
I've owned the car for 3 months, but the V5 was never received, although I did have green slip, so a full V5 was requested last week, but this may not arrive before purchase, but will be posted onto you on arrival - a letter will be issued on collection of the car with a photo of the green slip.

I'm sure I have forgotten things, so feel free to message asking questions !

Further pics on request.

Doesn't look like there is much interest in this, so I'm going to look at the issues & will update again once sorted (the primary concern for most being the wheel bearing).

Hope you all have a good Christmas

Olly

Hi,

Well Christmas wasn't as forthcoming with time as I'd hoped, but I have got the mirrors working !

I also now have a spare (used) hub to fit (which should go on this Friday if Kent isn't covered in show), so that should be the bearing sorted too !

The car is now advertised online elsewhere, but I'd rather it went to an enthusiast....

£800 ?

Thanks

Olly
