Well, its time for me to make a confession.
It all started a year or so ago, I was driving through Bradford and spotted an old tatty looking white 99 in a compound next to the road. I did what I am sure we all would and went to investigate further. So imagine my surprise when I drove into the compound to find that the white 99 was parked in front of a black 2 door turbo and a blue 9-3 Viggen. I fell in love instantly, and spoke to the owners son who owns the business compound where the cars are parked and uses the Viggen daily. I looked at the turbo, and pondered, then went back and looked again, then pondered more before concluding that it is beyond my ability to save this car. I have been hoping that I would suddenly find myself with the sort of cash needed to restore this car but a year later I am still no closer! So I think its time I let you all know that this car exists and hope that sombody here will be able to rescue this lovely car. The owner is willing to sell and it comes with the white 99 for spares. The white 99 has collapsed rear suspension but looked fairly solid in terms of doors bonnet etc. The turbo has a rusty roof, bonnet doors etc and rust under the rear side windows but looked much better than some that have been saved. If anyone is interested I will try and get an address and phone number. I feel guilty for keeping this to myself for so long, this car is well worth saving but I dont think it can wait too much longer!

I dont know Bradford that well but I should think it is the ones that have been there a while. He was definately willing to sell the car last time I was there. About a year ago I was offerd the pair for £1,000, I wasnt keen. Last time I went in I asked if he would sell for £400, he thought about it but said he would rather keep them for that. So I think the sum that would buy them is some where between the two! I think the turbo could probably get an MOT without too much work but it is very tatty, and would take skill, money and time to get it back to what it should be. (sadly I lack all three!)

I would be willing to buy and store the 99T in my barn if someone out there can help with transport from Bradford to Suffolk, IP17. Given that these cars are getting pretty scarce, I feel we should pool resources and save as many as we can until a suitable enthusiast or nutcase (sorry Nutcase!) can be found to take it on. :corn:

Ok, I have spent a some time on Street View and have found the place!!! If you type in Stanley Road Bradford the business is the first one in the triangle formed by the junction where Stanley road meets Canal road. If you look in the gate of the premises the LPG storage tank is clearly visible, as is the blue Viggen and the 2 99's are in the background. Let me know if you can see it! I will try and get a phone number next time I am there.

I can see quite a lot of swedish machinery in there, 9-5 estate, viggen, another 9-3, a volvo (144??) estate, the two 99's and other vehicles. So Im surprised he isnt on this forum!

Looking from Canal Road it appears he also has a green BMW E9 CS - very nice :)
