Car Model: 1978 99T 3 door, black
Out in Bournville, Birmingham on Thursday 21st and I saw a very nice looking black W reg 2-door turbo parked up on a drive. I thought "I'll check that on my way back" - but later in the evening it was gone and I can't remember which house it was outside. It was only about 750m from where my black 99 turbo is normally garaged and it would be great to make contact with the owner. PM me if it is you.

Does anyone have any slight clue where this one has gone? I sold in it April 2007 and it is off the radar.

Heart skipped a beat for a moment then, my old 99T with Airflow Kit fitted was WGF 990W.

It was quite a few years ago now, will be long gone - sadly.
I did an awful lot of welding on it too. :(

Was a weirdly unlucky one though. Broke down the day before my wife and I were supposed to be taking it to Europe on honeymoon. Later, going to an SOC nationals in the north of England [mid 90s] clutch slave seal gave up and we sent it home on an AA lorry. Had to go to the Nationals in a rental Cavalier :argh: . Lost a contact lens down the handbrake... Saw a black 99t two door at the event and went running over to it thinking "how the **** is my car here?!" turned out to be WGF 988W, I think. Had to look around to see if anyone had seen me making a prat of myself :park:

Either WGF986W was a Monday Car or a Volvo in disguise... great story though!

1980. 130,000 miles. Red and I've owned it since 1994. 16T conversion now, recently built by Steve Merradith (Saab God. A mechanical genius in my eyes). Because I spent over £4000 on the original engine having it rebuilt and it kept braking down, never completed more than 3000 miles in total before it eventually dropped a valve in to my engine, from a second, brand new cylinder head whilst running in, travelling down an autobahn at 60mph in the middle of Germany and Saab chinned me off with the warranty. Could have gone back to the garage. But they went bust. Probably because they were poor mechanics. Never mind. Sorry to dissapoint people who like and have original right hand drive (they made them in left...) but this is much better, the best that this car has ever been since new in my opinion. Thanks to Steve.

Can't see this one on the list anywhere. Came across the link searching for 99t on Youtube. Seems very much alive. I had a 99t a long time ago and want to relive my youth a little. I want a project though as I know even a 'perfect' one I could buy won't be as perfect as I want so better to start with something vaguely solid and restorable. Maybe in a year or two I will be ready. I don't want it to be stressful so will do it when it 'feels' like the right time.

Now that is very nice 8)

Airflow kit looks good on a silver car.

OK, is it me or has this thread gone slightly off course?

The original idea of listing every 99T, awake, asleep or otherwise is a very good one, not least because their number is dwindling fast and the DVLA records are, in my opinion, incomplete.

As from next Friday, HJM360W and JFV83W will be joined by ESF145W. All three are two door models in black, beige (re-shelled) and red respectively. All are complete and running but only HJM is currently taxed and MOT'd.

Can somebody clever out there please re-fresh the list and get us back on track? :corn:
