I had two 99T 2 door car, but now only one :-(....................... and I confess I have never added to this thread

But looking at the latest counts there seems to be about 20 99T 2 door declared on UK Saab..................... I have checked on How Many left a number of times and as of today there are 91 cars recorded with 71 sorn. Interesting?

I suspect there are a fair few squirrelled away in lock ups waiting until the cost of restoration < resulting value. Sadly I think they'll be waiting a while. Still more cars than deep pocketed buyers...

Still it's great news for those that have the skills to do it themselves. With Saab the impoverished enthusiast still isnt priced out which is great...

Interesting though doesn't it show all 99T models i.e. 2, 3 and 5 doors under one heading, not model specific?

Had a similar problem with Rover 3.5 litres & V8s as it did not differentiate between the P5 and P6 models.

It also lists the 99 EMS Turbo Combi.............. with 21 listed............. Is that the five door ? or is that the 3 and 5 door combined ?

So a total of about 120.............. making just shy of 100 Saab 99T lurking in lock ups and other undefined places perhaps

The SORN figures should be right, if How many left has access to correct SORN data. Of course there may still be cars that are not registered with DVLA. I have known a few of them 8)

Good point. At least it gives a good 'ball park' figure.

Just a heads up to anyone interested in a 99. I was at 2Stroke in Saab Bassignbourne a month back with my 900 and found out that they were just about to start a 99 rebuild as with the delivery of 2 scraped 99s they finally had the all the bits they had been after for the project.

I'd give em a call if you're interested. They put together my 'specified' 900 for me and it's bloomin awesome!

Some gorgeous 99s on this thread. Didn't even know they could come with a bodykit before looking at the pics in this thread. Unless that was a custom?

Yes, I guess my EMS falls in this category, DVLA have no current record of it...

Just a quick one of us picking it up.
Says 66000 miles on clock but a proper rust bucket. Lower wishbone has torn itself from the body due to corrosion. Looks like a reshell is the only way.

Hi, I have a red 99T which I have just got back on the road after a long time off. I bought it from Mal Espin on this forum a few years ago. It needed a bit welding and the usual mechanical stuff, brakes etc. Headcloth and C pillars retrimmed, fitted a 900 fuse box and it works a treat. It still needs plenty done to it, but just wanted to get it on the road and use for the summer (if we get one).

I hope the photos appear.

I also have a black 2 door which is getting the treatment after my 96.

Martin
