I've just recently had the car resprayed with all the window glass out.
The front screen proved quite a challenge to put back in as there was a 2 inch rubber flap all along the bottom of the window rubber.
This flap tucked down behind the dash and meant that I couldn't use chord/rope along the bottom edge.

We ended up putting the rubber in place tucking the flap down behind the dash.
Pushing the lower edge of the screen into the rubber then using chord on the sides and top with 3 people leaning on the screen.

Is this normal?
Is my very early car unusual in having this rubber flap.
Is this something that people cut off?
I'm guessing Saab put the dash in after the screen.

All the glass is going to have to come out again due to problems with the paint finish and after all the agro getting the front screen back in place I can't believe I'll have to go through it all over again.
Is there a trade secret that I don't know?

Thanks Jonathan
