Was in Paisley last night, for the UK start of the Monte Carlo Classique.
No fewer than 4 of 96s, three of them going all the way to Monte Carlo, and one just doing the local run to Dumfries.
A lot of other interesting cars around as well.
Maybe next year, I'll make the run.......dream on....
Some photos below.

The last one of the Forth Bridge was taken on the way home, showing The Old Lady of the Forth in all her glory, what an awesome structure!!

Great to see 3 96 V4s out on the Glasgow start of the Monte.

Caught up with the cars in Banbury this lunchtime. Great atmosphere and 50 years since the last Monte Carlo rally passed through here!

Had a great time as the Blue and white car was suffering from a misfire so needed a little help. Hopefully sorted now and was running nicely when it left - hope he makes it!

Great pics Andy. Especially the Forth bridge. Must make it over for the start some time. Maybe even take the Minor on the touring run.

Good to hear from you again.
Aye the Old Lady of the Forth. A truly iconic structure. She's been standing for 127 years now. That young whipper snapper road bridge, up the river, built in 1964, and just about still standing.......though to be fair it was never built for the weight of traffic it's been carry in recent times. It's getting a rest now. With the new Queensferry Crossing open, it's only buses and taxis on the old bridge.

Note I'll be across to Rostrevor again this year, for the Kilbroney Classic Car Show. 16th of June.
Ferry and hotel all booked!!

Good to hear you're booked again for Kikbroney Andy. Hopefully I'll make it this year and will hopefully be on the Morris Minor Owners Club NI stand. I'll be heading out to do a bit of work on it after lunch as the front end is all apart at the moment so need to get the finger out. Interesting to see you've gotten a Figaro. Wife was going to buy one about 10 years qgo but ended up with an MGF. Best of luck.

Aye the Figaro is a really great wee car.

1 litre turbo charged, goes like stink.
Full convertible, 2+2 leather seats, Air Con, automatic.
Really good retro look inside.
The standard wheels are 12", but this car has 15" alloys, with 195 wide tyres, so it corners like a Go Kart.
Under the skin it's a Nissan Micra K10, so no big spare parts issues.

Imported from Japan of course, never sold in the UK as new cars.
Our one was imported in 2104, 100K kms on the clock.

See you at Kilbroney!!

Andy

That's a pleasant surprise! Obviously early days though.
Anybody know anything about the 99 EMS? Is it a 16 valve?

What a wonderful line-up of cars! I want all of them, except perhaps the Peugeot 104... And go Saab EMS! Just when I thought of selling mine...

Hi Geoff. Good to hear a Saab is leading.

Andy. Always heard the Figaros were good fun to drive. Some of those special build Nissans do look quite neat. Do think the Cube would be a nice different everyday car.

Hi Peter, good to see that you still pop up on here every so often. You do realise that means you would like to have another Saab :D

I always keep an eye open Geoff. Maybe sort another V4 out at some point in the future. A 95 would be handy to throw the mutts into. Cheqper than a Minor Traveller anyhow. I enjoyed the 9000 but struggled with the heavy clutch with my wonky lefanyhow.I am enjoying the club scene here with the Minor and the Rover 75 which unfortunately wasn't available with the Saabs. In fact there's an MG Rover meet on today so away to slap some polish onto the 75.

Cheers Peter.

Sadly the two Scottish entered Saabs did not make it to the finish. The red one went out on Regularity Zone 10 and the blue and white one Zone 14 with just one more to do. Great effort though on a massive event so well done for getting as far as they did.
