What a COR...K-er! Saab 99

Thank you to Simon for his help in allowing me to arrange to collect the Saab 99 at the weekend, following the advert on UKSaabs.

It’s a very sound car, interior is very good (except the seats), although the front brakes were seized in place which made for an interesting drag out of the garage.

It has approximately 85,000 miles on the clock with some service history and should make for an easy restoration.

I will start the process of the restoration in the next few weeks and look forward to it.

Pictures below.

Keith

Great that the 99 has found a good home and will soon be woken up after a 30 year slumber.

Please do not think that this post is going to detail some miraculous progress on the new Saab 99! Indeed, my calendar has dictated that my time with the new car has been limited.

As a first, I decided simply to wash and in parts give it a polish (and remove the old rats nest in the boot well!), but she already looks a hundred times better! I wanted to at least not some limited progress, rather than disappear into the internet ether. Now going through my parts bins to see what I need to get her up and running.

I will keep you posted.

Great to see it's gone to a good home and getting attention it deserves.
Early 99's are such a lovely looking car, just right in my mind.
Good luck with the restoration, will be keeping an eye for your updates.

Will

Time has passed and I managed yesterdya to have another look and fiddle with the new project, as you can see in the pictures.

We have cleaned the engine bay out and the front end is a little more crusty that we first thought, but luckily we seem to be just in time.

Good to see this project started :) Any reason why you took the bonnet off the hinges rather than the hinges off the car? :corn: Body-wise it looks more than OK, especially the wings. Good luck and keep us posted! Peter
