Just got home to find a crisp V5c with my name on it! :D It seems the EMS was first registered on the 10th of March 1978 and is a one owner car.

Now at last I can think seriously about the future of this time-warp vehicle.

Still interested to hear from anyone who might have known the car over the past 39 years...

So likely in or near Reading for a far proportion of it's life?

First and only owner's address shows as Slough, SL3 postcode so it is fair to assume it spent most of its life in that area. The only tax disc I found in the car, issued in Slough, expired February '82. A NatWest paying-in book in the glove compartment has its last stamp dated January '83. A Haymills cash receipt is dated November '85...

OK, so I went on the DVLA website to SORN the EMS and it says quite clearly: 'This vehicle's previous tax/SORN expired on: 01 March 1982' this matches the tax disc I found in the car. It is hard to comprehend why someone would buy a new car, run it for 4 years and then lock it away... But it also goes some way to explaining why there is no information forthcoming on it as it literally has not been 'out there' for 35 years!
