Anyone know the best place to get refurbished genuine Saab front and rear brake calipers for a 1983 99?

Just checked..................... http://www.brakesint.co.uk/

£43 for a front caliper for a 900 [79-87 front handbrake] with £12 surcharge for exchange
£80 for a front caliper for a 99 [74-87 front handbrake] with £36 surcharge for exchange

arent they the same for 900 and 99 Front handbrake ?

the 900 units seem v good value.................. in their hayday these were £140 ish each

calipers are identical. (with subtle design differences over the years, but all compatible) unless they mean the pre '74 ATE disk/drum setup.

Sourced from Martin at Jamsaab, apparently genuine calipers refurbished are better too, a job for the weekend if they arrive in time!

Genuine refurb ones aren't pretty like aftermarket ones, but are refurbished properly (usually the wear to the yoke is ignored on the fronts).

update.. http://www.brakesint.co.uk/ just ordered rear calipers and £44.10p and £30 refund charge, so doing a complete brake pad, caliper and pins etc for about £120, (plus £60 refund 2x caliper and£5 post) bargain, another site I have used wanted £70.99 x vat + post, just caliper only,I didn't even enquire about anything else & refund.
