Hi - my '92 900 xs has been running too fast when idling. It sits at about 1800 rpm, drops down to 1200 momentarily then creeps back up. What's causing this? Thanks.

COULD WELL POSSIBLY BE, THE INLET MANIFOLD TEMPERATURE SWITCH,THE 'ECU' USES THIS TO DETERMINE ENGINE TEMPERATURE,AND THEREFORE ALTERS THE REVS/FUELLING ACCORDINGLY.

I HAVE HAD THIS VERY PROBLEM BEFORE.

Hi Birdie, are you referring to the temperature sensor that is located on the engine in between the 2nd and 3rd fuel injectors?
