So do we know who bought the black 3dr 99 Turbo off eBay then?

don't know, but nice car - needs the inner grille ring and shame about the whaletail, but otherwise looks a belter.

Yes would be interested if the £14.5k asking price was reached. The rear headrests were missing and there were no rear (square) fog lamps, were they an option at the time?

Front and rear fogs. Side rubbing strips.

I would also want the driver's door to fit at that price!

Front of the bonnet doesn't look great (disclosed in ad to be fair) and I wonder just what exactly is hiding under those wheel arch "blemishes"...

I had a look at the pictures on the eBay auction for that car and in my mind, the seller was a total chancer and a little loose with the accuracy in its description. Despite the above mentioned missing or incorrect items, it looks quite ropey around the edges, there's a load of overspray on the exhaust tailpipe which points at either welding or at least trying to hide/cover up something I'd say. Also, unless it's just the angle one of the pictures was taken from, the front drivers side wheel appears to be sat further back in the wheel arch than the passengers side. Knowing how common chassis leg corrosion on the offside front is on the turbo models, I do wonder if it's had a repair there and the wishbone mounting/s haven't gone back in quite the right place. Wheel centre caps are missing the metal plate badges, exhaust behind the axle is 3 different diameters. I know some of these are petty and minor, but in my mind, for the amount the seller was asking the car would have to be near perfect.

On the plus side, it is another 99 and a 3 door Turbo at that, which has been saved and has hopefully gone to a loving home where it's owner will get plenty of enjoyment from it.

A friend of mine chatted to the seller about the car and was told:
He's the second owner. Someone on Facebook asked 'One owner?' and he replied '1 former keeper'.
It's had the rear floors all welded up (which is backed up by my comment about overspray on the exhaust)
Apparently the tailgate is solid.
The interior is complete but 'faded'
He doesn't know what happened to the rubbing strips but insists its an unrestored car.
No history.
The guy is a dealer - wizard classics

Have chatted to the new owner tonight and he's over the moon with the car. He has one years ago, but other commitments meant it had to go. He also has a 96 Souvenir.

If you look closely at the full resolution picture of the front wheel arch, the sanding marks under the paint are quite obvious, the paint finish doesn't look great either, so I would suspect it has had a fairly hasty blow over.
Don't get me wrong, it's great to see another one of these on the road and I hope the new owner gets much pleasure from it.
I just hope it's worth the money.

As long as the buyer is happy with what they paid I guess that is all that matters.

Yeah, very true. Plus it's being used not just laid up slowly detreating.
