Hello all,

The Berks, Hants, Oxon group will be meeting at the Fox and Hounds near Donnington, Newbury on the 29th of January at 2pm. We aren't booking any tables for food so if you would like to join us and eat as well please make arrangements to book a table. The plan is to park up, chat Saabs and other stuff, grab a drink and food if we fancy it.

Will (sGould) said that this pub is nice and the car park is large, therefore the idea was sold on us!

Look forward to seeing faces old and new there,

Rob

Literally up the road from me, a minute if that from the M4/A34 Chievely services so should be easy for everyone to get to. If anyone gets stuck/lost just turn off into the services and we can get you from there

Been refurbed and changed hands a while ago, haven't been in since. The car park is a reasonable size, unless they've extended it? If it gets too busy the services are literally along the road and there's plenty of other places around.

I'll have to clean the car up and get along to my first Saab meet, only had the car a couple of months :)

What I meant was that the pub was full and there was still room to park!! :)

That makes more sense! Usually lots of walkers stop in there, shouldn't be an issue in January!

We found out later that there is a surfaced car park around the back of the pub. We parked on the unmade overflow area to the south!! :)

I've only ever parked on the tarmac round the back  Years back when I used to go there wasn't the overflow bit open, shows how long it's been since I've paid any attention rather than driving past!

No excuse now, I best get the car cleaned up!

I'll see how my diary looks, if I am allowed...I live in SW London but work between Maidendead and Brackhell.

In Prague for the weekend. lots of nighttime photography planned.

No worries! Is it in aid of anything or just for "fun"?

Although we have different ideas about fun ways to spend a winter's day, enjoy yourself! I hope the weather holds out for you.

Perhaps see you next time.

I'm hoping to make this! :)

We were there for a family lunch today. It was quite busy in the pub, but the unsurfaced overflow carpark had plenty of room.

But it does reinforce the need to book a table if you definitely want a full lunch. But snacks should be OK, but might take a while to come.

Disaster!

My wife is being admitted to hospital for an emergency MRI tomorrow and possible back surgery if all is not well.

I wont be able to make it to the meet, if she is out she will need tlc and if not I will be pacing corridors anxiously.

Could someone make a list of names with SOC membership numbers / guest postcodes for me to staple into the book that is languishing in my glove box?

Thanks all and have a good one!
