A heads up for people wishing to attend a future Saab International meeting! :-)

From a Saab German blog site, saab-reisen.de :

Quote:
- 2017 Germany, Trier, probably in a planned and desired cooperation with our SAAB club neighbors Luxembourg and France. Another advantage, and clearly claim for this location: Belgium also lies with its active clubs in the immediate catchment area.
All information is non-binding and planning. Once the logged details are available, we will publish these. Finally, you can combine an International SAAB Club meeting or a SAAB Festival also with a great and somewhat longer holiday ...

Trier is close to the Luxembourg border. A reasonable journey from the UK and closer than recent Saab Internationals. Planning on attending this one. The dates are yet to be announced but I suppose it will be late July early August.

Ah! That will be a definite for us. We know Trier quite well. There is a Saab specialist in Trier who was really helpful in checking out my newly Hirsched car when it developed a worrying rattle.

And it's an easy drive from Calais. And fuel down the road in Luxembourg is nice and cheap. :)

That is a definite possibility
Hop across on the ferry from 'Ull and an easy trek down from Europoort...almost as easy as the Dutch International at Doesburg.

We were in Trier all day yesterday. it's a nice place and we are staying in our usual B&B on the Mosel about half an hour up the road.

No dates yet which is a pity, we would like to book the room for next year while we are here!! :)

Sorry guys Trier would have been great! but check out http://www.intsaab2017.com and we find it is Dinslaken about 50 miles north of Cologne over the weekend of 4/5/6 of August. Not nearly as appealing location or name :(

That's a pity. We know Trier well and would have booked at our regular B&B. Dinslaken is a short distance NE of the Rhur industrial area, but it's not as industrial as it was. It looks like it could be a caravan site on the banks of the Rhine...

My wife lived in that area when she was young while her father was stationed there.

The old airbase is a Ryanair destination now. Weeze. About 25 miles west.

I'm certainly up for this, and have been looking at the various ferry options, based on starting from my home in dear old Scotia.
Cheapest is day time from Harwich, most expensive the ferry from North Shields. However Harwich is a fairly long haul from home, with an overnight stop on the way. North Shields is a nice wee 3 1/2 hrs tootle from home.
Decisions, decisions.!!!

The column alignments seemed to get a bit screwed up on posting, unfortunately....
