I've just noted that the SAAB Museum festival is slated for 10th to 12th of June 2022.
I know it's a long way away.....

I'm up for it, who else?

We are thinking of going. We went to the one last year. We didn't rush too much. We had a few nights in Copenhagen on the way up.

sgould.
We were there in 2015.
Drove all the way in the ol' 96, from the north of NL.

A night near Bremen, two nights on the island of Rugen, (where I have relatives).
Ferry from Rugen to Trellborg.
Returned over the bridge from Malmo to Copenhagen.

Brilliant week....

Andy

There is a plan emerging here in the South West, much of which is being discussed on Facebook. There are 2 trains of thought and approach - a driving trip to Stockholm and thence to Trollhattan for the Festival (75th Anniversary of Saab cars) - and a fly-drive. Looking forward to the driving trip as my first choice - in the 900 vert, of course, as I don't fancy driving my stroker that far. Maybe I should find a co-driver and tow the 96 on its A-frame for use in Sweden 8) .

Well, that sounds good.
It is certainly is much better driving, than going flydrive. I mean where's the fun in that. Boring!!!!

I don't live even remotely close to the South West, but if something is arranged, could you keep me in the loop?

What Face ache page are we taking about specifically David?

I would probably take the North Shields ferry to Ijmuiden in the north of NL.
We could meet up somewhere in Northern Germany.
I'd hopefully be in my V4 96.

Andy

Hi Andy,
I've looked for the link on the GWS pages but it may be a way back - Naranto (David D) is masterminding the driving trip via Harwich-Hook of Holland and Robin & Alex are planning a fly-drive with us all linking up in Trollhattan. I'll keep looking for other links and let you know.

I'd be interested in going to the festival in 2022, driving up there, and if there is a convoy from Northern Germany we'll connect there, we'll be sure to make a few stops in Holland and Luebeck on the way.

Plus if there is another 9-5 photocall like they did a few years ago I'd love to get Helga into the line-up.

That's why I don't use Face- ache much, once stuff goes off the bottom of the screen it's hard to find.
Long live the forums!

I know David Dallimore, I'll E mail him.

Although Harwich is a long way from where I live, it has one advantage. You can book flexi fares, in case your plans change.
The DFDS route from North Shields, is strictly no refunds.

I looked at these routes for the 2019 SAAB festival. I didn't go in the end, but did all the price comparisons. I've got a Spreadsheet, with all the costs, at that time. Ferry/Petrol/hotels etc.

Hope to see you at Swedish day 21!
