The Mercs were DTM in the German championships but they were all AMG cars, for the DTM they were or I think they were all black but for the BTCC they were silver like this one but a few were not AMG but another name I cant think of???????

Has anyone identified this car? My immediate thoughts, because of the colour, was 'Talbot Lago' but the exhaust is on the wrong side. The same applies to the Maserati 250F of the same era (late 1940's early 1950's) and the the Ferrari, while having the exhausts on the same side, exit much higher up the side of the car. :?

Don't think Merc raced in the BTCC, are you thinking of Audi? Their cars were silver in the BTCC.

No the only other French GP cars of that era were Gordini Simca's and fairly sure it's not one of them. Might be a 1949/50 Ferrari in the 'wrong' colour :?

Wrong colour again, but it is like one of the Alfa Romeo Tipo's or a Gordini T16

That was my first thought, but there's too much "grey" in there to be Bugatti?

BRM was my thought too, a V12?? Too early styling for a Vanwall.
