but id keep it in the house :D
I actually like the steering wheel.

so given a choice youd have a plastic one over a leather one takes all sorts i guess
im to hot blooded for a plastic wheel best thing to do with a plastic wheel cut it up and make a boss out of it

Just noted the seller states the paintwork is all original, but then states both doors have been repainted

THE EXTERIOR PAINT IS ALL ORIGINAL

THE ENGINE BAY AND BOOT AREA IS ALSO IN ORIGINAL PAINT AND IS GOOD CONDITION

(STILL WITH ORIGINAL GREY PLASTIC MATT / COVERS)

WITH BOTH DOORS RECENTLY PROFESSIONALLY RE-PAINTED DUE TO SLIGHT FADING

Looking at the photo's again the doors do look slightly darker than the rest of the car, still a very nice 99 though.

That is bad paintwork. I would not have accepted that if I was paying for it

Just about to post and say same.
I like the look of this car, 1970s SAABs are usually £5k + or quite rusty.

I'm looking at 1970s cars at the moment, not SAABs though as they are usually out of budget or basket cases. It seems (looking at asking prices rather than selling prices admittedly) that VW Type 1s (Beetles), Morris Minors, Triumphs and so on are all available at a few thousand or so in reasonable condition but SAABs seem to either be good and priced to match or just rotten. I guess it's just a simple case of supply and demand. Saabs are rarer so cost more. Presumably supply and demand is also why VW Type 2s are really expensive, despite greater numbers.

Perhaps the ad is light on detail because they don't know anything about the car or what is important to tell people?

Some better pictures now added, but still not enough along with info for the asking price.

More pictures added, but still not a lot of detail.
Sounds like the current owner has had the recent work done, so they must have more detail to add.

I do like the look of it though and its not a bad price if its as good in the metal as it looks in the photo's.

I thought the same too regarding the plate hiding. Doing this is simply hiding the MOT history and instantly makes most folk feel suspicious.

Sent the seller the below message :corn:

Quote:
Can I ask if there's something from the previous MOT's you'd rather not be disclosed?

It seems suspect I'm unable to acquire this information due to you hiding the registration number?

Cheers

UKShalien

Despite the lack of interior photos, it does look to be a very tidy car.

I'll be surprised if you receive a response.
I think if you're really serious about finding out the MOT history then something like:
Quote:
Hi. I'm interested in buying this car and wondered if I could have the full registration, please, so I can check the MOT history? Thanks in advance.

might be more likely to receive a positive response. And if I wasn't interested in buying the car I don't think I would waste their time (and mine) with any message at all
