Thanks Espin forgot it was on. I often look to see what they have online. Should be good.

Well that was a pleasant programme. Nice photo of Fangio drifting a 250F probably at Rouen 1957 in the office. Mini story was interesting and it is amazing the fascination people have with 70 year old US trucks.
Will watch it again next week.

Interesting. I knew Minis went for silly prices but did not realise it would be £18k for one with about 25% rusted away and the rest in poor condition. I suppose it was a Mk 1 Cooper S and they reckon worth £50-60k when refurbed.

"Refurbed"? About the only original stuff from that will be the engine and dials etc.. Mention of reshelling? Does that still make it an early Cooper S?

Do not think re-shelling is frowned upon much these days. Obviously he has the original VIN and possibly the log book (the deceased owner was a hoarder). I assume you can put the original VIN on a re-shelled body?

It'll be like Trigger's broom.
It looked more than 25% rust to me too. I suppose, cynically, is that's the cost of the VIN. A reshell doesn't stop it being an early Cooper, after all a car could have been reshelled in its early life. But how much of it is likely to be transferred to the new shell?

Not a bad program. I'll tune in again.

Had intended to watch this, but was busy with customers.
I thought the new shells available to re-shell a mini were for the slightly later ones, not the Mk1's. Maybe things have changed since I last looked at this though

An enjoyable watch for me, a series without some cheeky chappie or not so funny joker spoiling the content.

I'll be watching again.

Narp Dave, I have always liked 2 doors and Sapphires.
There was a black sapphire Cosworth on my paper round, liked them since then.
I prefer Saff to 2 door.
Also remember when Series One RS Turbos were new as a kid and liked them too.
Cavalier GSi was round the corner, also liked them since then and proud to say I owned two Cavalier GSi's.
Also owned a Cavalier Turbo.

The Jowett Javelin has a similar engine to early Saab engines (opposite opposed flat four, or that's how I understood his explanation)? Did they?
