It,s one brand I see rarely discussed or recommended. Just interested, not buying. An SV model 2012 with 60K on the clock seems a good price at 8K. Boxer engine sounds lovely, but permanent 4WD and Auto wouldn,t be my preference. Who owns Suburu?

I started to look at the Legacy and Outbacks when we were looking to upgrade our 9-5 estate. They do seem to represent good value, but poor interiors and most significantly, really expensive parts and servicing put me off. But - they are good cars and I can imagine me in the future going for one.

I've driven a few newer ones (Outback and Levorg) and rate them like I do Lexus. Not particularly fashionable but properly engineered vehicles with a focus on longevity. Something European manufacturers seem to have abandoned.

What about Huawei for an unpronounceable name, it's apparently pronounced wahway?

Originally Nakajima (another aircraft manufacturer) which turned into Fuji Heavy Industries and now Subaru Corporation and the only one I ever liked was the original Legacy RS which is very very rare now, equivalent to the Mitsubishi Galant VR4... Very oddball, boxer engines and wide use of frame-less windows, SVX coupe is interesting but with the advent of the Impreza the stereo typical owner is now very different........

"Hwahway", I believe. It's mostly pronounced phonetically so isn't too hard to pronounce.

They are wonderful. CAR magazine rated it very highly, comparing it to a Japanese xjs. Weak wheel bearings and autobox as i recall.

Good cars. Expensive to run if you take the narrow view, acceptable if you factor in their reliability. I harbour dirty desires for a 3.6 Outback. Had an rb320 for 2.5 years a decade ago, which was nice.

I have had several over the years. Good cars let down by finish, price of parts and fuel consumption. 20mpg is all you can realistically expect.

Then there is the diesel. Don't. They explode, not if, but when. Awful.

Why do people say "Impretsa"
It's Impreza.
Bro in law had a Legacy and a Forester.
Forester gave such bad mpg he got rid after a few months.

I thought they had fixed the diesels, finally?

Suppose it's a bit like Nikey and Porscher.
I say Nike and Porsche.
