17st 7lbs, only 1lb

But at least its in the right direction.

I've not really made much effort other than to stop eating anything after my evening meal for the past 4 days.

I also plan to cut out bread, which means replacing my lunchtime sandwiches with either soup or salad.

I'll then eat a normal evening meal but reduce the portion size.

Exercise plan from next week is to actually take a lunch break when in office and go for a 30 minute walk, I usually work through and do not stop.

I already walk the dogs twice a day, so that will be around two hours of daily walking.

Nothing like going to the doctor to make you change your lifestyle

Had a check up a while ago for blood pressure, cholesterol, liver & kidney function, diabetes, heart etc.

Thankfully results show I only have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, not bad enough to go on statins or blood pressure tablets but not far off it so warning headed if I want to add twenty years to my life. Liver not in great shape however from drinking, diet and being overweight. I think livers can recover a bit with correct diet.

Advice is 6 beers or 6 glasses of wine a week  :(

Only had a banana for lunch and fish for tea after that news  GROAN!

Need to be careful buddy - starvation is every bit as bad for your body as over eating. Puts your system into emergency survival mode.

Walking in itself does not seem to cut the mustard.
Walked 56 miles so far this year and still my weight is the same.
Diet has not altered.

Day 6 of the Keto/LCHF diet, and it's actually very pleasant. Takes a bit of time to batch prepare all the meals, and care to avoid hidden carbs, but oh boy is it effective. Started at 19st 1lbs, this morning weighed in at 18st 10lbs. Most of it is likely to be fluid loss, as the reduction in carb intake encourages the kidneys to start dispensing with retained water. Sure enough I've been urinating like a racehorse.

Any other updates this week?

Bad back was a slipped disc, I felt it slot back into position during the night, got up this morning no problem without hobbling around having to use furniture as a support, I can stand up now without the pain :D back to walking soon hopefully. Still Blimmen starving though :( but the pounds are shedding off, my wife says I have cheek bones once again :D

Been hard at it at the gym (kettle bells Monday, Body Pump yesterday, football tonight, boot camp tomorrow), but have resisted a weigh in because the last one was a couple of weeks before all the Christmas food, drink, and lack of gym classes. Don't want the disappointment of my next figs being worse than my last (which happened when I went away in the summer for 2 weeks)! Wil update end of Jan I think.

Went for a walk yesterday for the first time since slipped disc up your way MossyPossy...Chanctonbury Ring :D

My regime is still a coffee in the morning, a banana at about 10.30, handful of mixed nuts and raisins at 1.30 and proper tea at 4.30 plus pint of real ale (which I admit I cannot manage to give up) seems to be doing it for me.

Follow up docs appointment in 4 weeks so I need to get my weight, cholesterol and BP down.

Doive how is your diet going... I told the football mums about it. instead of standing around for two hours watching their sons play footy in the cold, they are going to get kitted out and start jogging around the football grounds. They usually stand around getting leak with mulled wine etc to keep them warm

I have identified where it is going wrong. Three areas.
Lack of will power
Cake
Wine

On target for 100 miles walked this month though
