More what I haven't done, than have!
Still trying to locate a very specific rear/boot, noise/rattle.
Thought it was going to be spare wheel carpet/cover, but no...

Have taken out spare wheel, parcel shelf, tool kit, all to no avail.

Replaced the front and rear shocks with the Bilstein B6 set I had, inluding front springs and top mounts. Also replaced the front brake pads (302mm set up), opting to save the 314mm conversion for another time. I have the calipers, carriers and some pads but seeing as it took 7 hours to do these jobs I was defeated.

I encountered some 'difficult' threads and without a thread chaser or ability to go out and get some I had to spend a long time sorting them out. This was mostly successful but I will probably revisit part of this in a few months once restrictions are lifted. It's all together but I would like to have done a slightly better job!

The lower rear shock absorber bolt on the 9-3ss is quite awful with hand tools on stands on the drive. 150nm with only 40 degrees of turning room on the extension bar and then the torque wrench was not fun. I ended up using a floor jack to exert the required force.

Rear callipers arrived Saturday (thanks Saabits!) so today was that job. Only need to do the LH one but did both to be safe. Been soaking the LH brake pipe - calliper connection for months with Rost-Off, which worked a treat. While I was there I took the wheel arch protectors off to clean and inspect & wax. Only needed the lower 8mm screws replacing. 8)

Thanks - pads and discs were fine, so left them alone.
This arrived today, so tomorrow....

A veritable stockpile Fraser, whatever the collective noun for a group of headlight washers is ...
A puddle?
A spray?

I finally got round to taking the front wheels off to check the accident side for suspension damage.

Looks ok.
Plus points: newish pads if those discs are ok post rusty sitting for months, there isn’t any lipping.
New solid brake lines on both sides. Bushes on the shock have seen better days, but other bushes look ok.

Maybe it is the angle of the picture, but I think the spring and shock are bit close...

I’ll have another look tomorrow, but I couldn’t see anything bent at first sight.

As the 9-5 is SORN I have been trying to cure some of the oil leaks. Fitted a new cam cover gasket (OK, yesterday) and today did the crankshaft and oil pump seals, great fun with the giant circlip! Still need advice on tightening the crankshaft bolt and recommended serpentine belt length (please see Workshop thread).

Is the white internal section ceramic too. I could easily justify this to myself.
