I bought a Mini 0801 Ambarella a while ago which seems quite decent. There are a few different companies making them so some versions have slightly different base connectors and firmware, but it's not really an issue unless you want to use one camera for 2 or more vehicles.

Search for Techmoan on Youtube for reviews and stuff!

I'm running Mini 0803 and Mini 0801's

Not had any problems, and they've paid for themselves this year with 2 accidents and no excesses lost. One where the other party never even reported the accident, but we still got his Ins Co to pay out :-)

About £60 or £65 each + a decent 32Gb class 6 Samsung Micro SD card

I have as wrighar and it's very good. I got the non gps one for about 55 quid. Great quality videos. Here's a link - got mine off ebay. It did take about 3 weeks to arrive as from China. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E-PRANCE-New- ... 2ed53562f8

Can it be hard wired in - or do you use the cig lighter adaptor?

Using cig lighter at the mo, but bought a couple of 12v to 5v mini/micro usb leads to fit to interior light console to hard wire.

Just haven't done it yet.

New models are micro usb, older mini usb, but electrically the same.

This sort of thing

I just use my phone and Dailyroads Voyager app. Current phone records in 1080p and has GPS data available.

Sent using telephony.

I have an app on my iPhone called "Witness". It sits in a Brodit cradle and it pokes above the edge of the dash. I use it from time to time and it's pretty good for a free version (you can pay for more). A hard wired separate one would be better, as I usually don't bother with the iPhone for short journeys.

will try and upload some night footage from a mini0801 tonight.

Wifey had a 206 spin on the roundabout in front of her Saturday night. That's one of the reasons we got rid of her murderous 206.

I've got the G1W-C - pretty cheap (just over £30 from China) but white balance isn't as good as the earlier battery-based G1W. Mind you, the G1W-C doesn't die when left in the car in the summer time. Image quality is pretty good - could be better, but for the price it's good enough. I use the ciagrette lighter lead on the 9000 (have a multi-socket adaptor) but a 12V to 5V DC-DC convertor fitted in the overhead light unit in the 9-5.

Is it just me, but why would you need one? Really not looking to troll, I honestly don't know.

Think it was the footage posted (by wrighar?) of his missus driving down a lane, an old bloke coming the opposite way was some distance out from the kerb, made no attempt to move over and clouted their mirror. £400-odd to replace mirror, the other side paid out upon seeing the footage - would have been "knock for knock" otherwise. I've captured some pretty dangerous manoeuvres (eg, car overtaking on a bend, in the middle of the road and heading towards me), for the sake of £40 per car to me it's a no-brainer having them fitted ...

I'm really tempted from reading this thread. I hate cables though so would want one hard wired.
